Glamping Packing List

Updated Feb 11, 2023 · This post may contain affiliate links.

Wondering what to pack for your first glamping trip! I've got you covered. This glamping packing list has all the essentials - and a few fun extras - to make sure you have the best fancy camping trip ever.

luxury glamping area at westgate river ranch

We recently had a chance to check glamping off our bucket list with a trip to Westgate River Ranch Resort in Florida. If you've never heard of glamping before, it's a cross between "glamorous" and "camping". So fancy camping.

And while choosing a glamping option over traditional camping definitely means more of the creature comforts will be included - there are still some essentials that you just don't want to forget. So here is my ultimate glamping packing list!

Glamping Packing List

Here are all the essentials you need to pack for a perfect glamping experience.

Campsite Comforts

Your glamping site is likely going to be pretty comfy right out of the gate, but here are a few things that can make your stay even more cushy.

Image for Camping Chairs

Camping Chairs

If your campsite doesn't already have campfire chairs set up for you, you'll want to make sure to bring along your own.

We have these exact camp chairs with the sun shade. And besides camping, we use ours at the beach and at my son's soccer practice. They are totally worth the price tag!

Image for LED Flashlights

LED Flashlights

Don't forget to bring along flashlights. Whether you plan on nighttime hiking or just making your way to and from the campfire and restrooms, you are going to need a little light.

I like this inexpensive four-pack so everyone in the family can have their own!

Image for Turkish Cotton Towels

Turkish Cotton Towels

If your glamping accommodations have a swimming pool, be sure to bring along some towels! These are the ones we use for both travel and our pool at home.

They're super lightweight and thin so easy to pack. And they also make a great picnic blanket or tablecloth in a pinch!

Image for Citronella Candles

Citronella Candles

If your glamping in the summertime (or anytime in Florida), bring along some Citronella candles for the campsite. You will definitely need these to keep those mosquitoes at bay. Especially at dinner time!

Image for Portable Charger

Portable Charger

I have a portable power bank of all of my packing lists. It's handy for making sure your devices stay charged, which can be a real safety precaution when traveling. Great to take in your hiking bag, or just to make sure you phone stays charged for pictures.

Eating & Drinking

Grilling up a delicious dinner and enjoying an adult beverage next to the fire is pretty much the ideal glamping evening. So here are a few things to make sure you eat and drink like a king (or queen!).

Image for YETI Hopper Backpack Cooler

YETI Hopper Backpack Cooler

Even if your glamping tent includes a mini fridge, you'll likely need some sort of cooler. It will be handy for getting the cold food to your campsite in the first place, and for holding any waters or adult beverages that don't fit in the small fridge.

And this Yeti backpack cooler is hands down the best cooler I've ever owned. We use ours weekly for boating, beach days, or just kids sporting events.

Image for Hershey's S'mores Kit

Hershey's S'mores Kit

You can't possibly go camping and not make s'mores. And I'm loving this handy all-in-one kit that includes graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate bars in one neat packable kit.

Image for 100% Compostable Paper Plates

100% Compostable Paper Plates

You'll want to check if your glamping site includes dinnerware, but most of them do not. Disposable plates will be easiest to pack.

But of course, we don't want to damage the environment while we're out enjoying it, so check out these 100% compostable paper plates.

Image for 100% Compostable Cutlery Set

100% Compostable Cutlery Set

And for all the same reasons, consider grabbing one of these 100% compostable cutlery sets instead of plastic forks, spoons, and knives.

Image for Extra Long Roasting Sticks

Extra Long Roasting Sticks

Roasting sticks will be needed for all those s'mores, and these are my favorite ones. They're extra long so kids can keep a safe distance from the fire while they roast those marshmallows.

Image for Nomader Collapsible Water Bottle

Nomader Collapsible Water Bottle

Bring along a reusable water bottle to keep hydrated all day. I always recommend these Nomader collapsible bottles. They're super durable and roll up for easy travel.

Image for Starbucks Instant Coffee

Starbucks Instant Coffee

Check if your glamping tent has an actual coffee maker inside. If not, be sure to bring along some instant coffee for that morning caffeine fix.

Image for Wine Opener

Wine Opener

And here's one thing you definitely don't want to forget - a corkscrew! We keep one in our suitcase so we can never forget it again. ;)

Image for YETI Rambler Tumbler

YETI Rambler Tumbler

Instead of disposable cups, bring along a reusable tumbler. Your drinks will stay colder, you'll look much cooler, and there's less waste too!

Image for KIND Nut Bars

KIND Nut Bars

These KIND Bars might just be the ultimate camping snack. Tasty, convenient, and they come in all kinds of delicious flavors.

Fun Extras

You're on vacation, right? So here are a few ideas to make sure you stay relaxed and entertained on your glamping vacation.

Image for JBL Flip 4 Bluetooth Speaker

JBL Flip 4 Bluetooth Speaker

Crank up some tunes around that campfire with a portable Bluetooth speaker. Any one will do, but I'm a fan of this one from JBL.

Image for Book Light

Book Light

A glamping trip is the perfect time to relax with a new book, so be sure to bring along a booklight. I like these rechargeable ones!

Image for Frisbee Rings

Frisbee Rings

And of course, you'll need some entertainment. These frisbees are a great way to have some active fun. Or bring along a soccer ball or football to toss around at the campsite.

Image for Deck of Cards

Deck of Cards

A regular old deck of cards is perhaps the perfect camping entertainment. There's an endless number of games you can play and they couldn't be easier to pack along.

Image for Phase 10 Card Game

Phase 10 Card Game

If you're in the mood for a new card game, this Phase 10 game is one of our family favorites. It's always a hit with adults and kids alike.

Image for Spot It! Camping Card Game

Spot It! Camping Card Game

Another favorite travel game of ours is this Spot It! camping themed game. This one is especially popular with the younger glampers.

Image for Battery Powered Lights

Battery Powered Lights

Get fancy with your glamp-site and decorate with a few strings of these battery powered lights. These are also perfect for decorating a golf cart if you find one is included in your glamping vacation!

Personal Care

Your glamping tent will likely come with a few essentials, but there are some personal care items you should make sure to bring along from home.

Image for Toiletry Travel Convenience Kit

Toiletry Travel Convenience Kit

Be sure to pack all of your usual travel toiletries including toothbrush, toothpaste, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, and deodorant.

Image for Bug Spray

Bug Spray

If you only remember one item on this list, please let it be the bug spray. Nothing can turn a fun campfire into a nightmare faster than hungry mosquitos.

Image for Lots of Hair Ties

Lots of Hair Ties

Camping (even glamping style) means a lot of time in the outdoors. So ladies - pack those hair ties!

Image for Gillette Venus Mini Razors

Gillette Venus Mini Razors

These are my personal favorite razors for travelling. It's the same Venus razors that I love, but with a mini handle so it fits in my toiletry bag.

Image for Purell Travel Hand Sanitizers

Purell Travel Hand Sanitizers

You're going to be doing a lot of outdoor eating on this glamping trip, so don't forget to grab some hand sanitizer. I like these travel sized ones that can clip onto a bag.

Image for Aquaphor Lip Repair

Aquaphor Lip Repair

Whether it's too hot or too cold, I am super prone to chapped lips. This Aquaphor chap stick is the best I've found. And these tube style chap sticks won't melt in the heat!

What to Wear Glamping

Of course your wardrobe will depend on the weather and your glamping destination, but here are a few essentials that you should put on your list.

Image for Glamping Shirts

Glamping Shirts

If you're the group t-shirt type, check out all the funny and adorable glamping themed shirts available!

Image for Waterproof Hiking Boot

Waterproof Hiking Boot

If your glamping trip is going to involve a lot of hiking or muddy terrain, be sure to bring along a good pair of hiking boots. These KEEN Targhee 3 boots are my personal favorite.

Image for Venture Pal Lightweight Packable Backpack

Venture Pal Lightweight Packable Backpack

This packable backpack is my go-to for most of our trips. It is lightweight and perfecta s a daypack, and folds up into a small pouch for packing in my suitcase.

Image for Quick Dry Hiking Pants

Quick Dry Hiking Pants

These hiking pants are another personal favorite of mine. I bought them for a trip to Iceland, where I wore them with leggings underneath. But I've found them equally comfortable in Florida on their own.

Plus they dry quickly and have lots of pockets.

Image for Lightweight Hoodie with Sun Protection

Lightweight Hoodie with Sun Protection

If you're expecting chilly (but not frigid) nights, grab one of these lightweight hoodies. They're perfect for adding a little warmth but light enough to wear as sun protection during the day.

Image for Flip Flops

Flip Flops

If you'll be using a communal bath of any sort on your glamping trip, you are going to need a pair of cheap flip flops for the shower. I love my Haviana's and they're easy to wash.

Image for Water-Resistant Baseball Cap

Water-Resistant Baseball Cap

These waterproof hats are the only ones my husband will wear. They're comfy, keep the sun from your eyes, and dry fast. He wears his in the pool constantly!
